If you’ve ever stared at a blank caption box and felt your stomach knot, you’re not alone.

I’ve been there, too — wondering how something that once felt sacred could start to feel so heavy. One friend said it best: “Social media is the bane of my existence.” And I nodded because, truthfully, some days it feels that way for me too.

We love writing. We love Jesus. But somewhere between the quiet of the keyboard and the noise of algorithms, our joy starts to slip through the cracks. What began as a calling starts to feel like a chore.

But what if there’s a gentler way?

What if technology isn’t the enemy of creativity but an unlikely helper — something God can redeem for His glory? I used to see AI as cold and mechanical, but I’ve started to see it differently. When I bring it before the Lord, it becomes a kind of divine assistant — a tool that carries my message into places I could never reach on my own.

It’s not about replacing inspiration. It’s about reclaiming time. Releasing pressure. Remembering that God can use any tool to keep His Truth moving forward.

Here’s what I’m learning:

  1. Start With Scripture at the Core.
    Let the Word be the well you draw from. When your message is anchored in truth, you don’t have to worry about losing your voice — it’s built on His.

  2. Write First, Then Repurpose.
    Pour your heart into the page first. Cry, wrestle, pray, write. Then, when your piece feels complete, let AI help you break it into smaller pieces — carousels, reels, or story captions — so your words can echo a little farther.

  3. Let AI Lighten the Load.
    Try simple prompts like:
    • Create a five-slide carousel from this devotion.
    • Turn this paragraph into a 15-second reel script.
    • Write three short captions that invite reflection.
    This isn’t about chasing clicks; it’s about meeting hearts where they are.

  4. Edit Through Prayer.
    Before you post, sit with the words. Read them out loud. Ask: Does this sound like me? Does it still sound like Him? Keep what feels honest. Delete what feels hollow.

AI can’t cry with you, pray for your readers, or feel the Spirit’s nudge — but you can. And when you let God guide even your use of technology, the process starts to feel lighter, freer, even sacred again.

So before you post, pause. Whisper a quick prayer. Ask God to show you one new way to use the tools of today to carry His timeless Truth into tomorrow. Then take that step of faith, even if your hands are trembling a little.

Because when technology serves your calling, not competes with it, your words don’t just travel farther — they land softer, right where someone needs them most.

    Honestly, God is the center of my life, and I cannot imagine writing without him. But I will admit to getting distracted and thrown off course occasionally by my own wandering thoughts. I need his Holy Spirit guidance to keep me grounded. I took a class on meditation and prayer a few years ago and was told that when I was meditating and my thoughts began to drift, I should ask myself: where are my feet. It is to remind us of where we are at and what we are doing. That one small phrase has helped bring my focus back to centering once more on God quite often. Amazing how a simple question can reset our mind and bring our focus back.
