Instagram Growth Strategies Every Christian Writer Should Know in 2025

Calling all Instagram creatives and writers! Are you having trouble growing your account and unsure of what to do next? We understand! Here are the do’s and don’ts for Instagram growth in 2025 and why everyone, including you, should be aware!

How can you keep up with all the dos and don’ts for maximum growth on social media without sacrificing precious writing time? Knowing that the effectiveness of your strategy rests in the credibility of your source, the most crucial step is selecting a trustworthy source of advice for each platform. That’s why I confidently turn to Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, as my go-to resource when planning content, knowing his insights will keep me well-informed and ahead of the game.

In a recent reel, Mosseri revealed creativity and connection are at the heart of Instagram’s 2025 goals, which is great news for Christian creatives! They plan to reward creative content by ranking on originality.

On the flip side, Mosseri also shared a few things to avoid for maximum reach on our posts: watermarks from other platforms, poor-quality images, and posting content you didn’t make. If you like sharing other people’s stories, use Instagram’s creator tools to add your comment or a sticker before posting. If your engagement is low, shorten your captions to 300 words or less (Mosseri says very short content performs best).

Instagram story stickers are fun elements and powerful tools for encouraging audience engagement. Remember: The more engagement your posts get, the higher they’ll be boosted by the Instagram algorithm. The best stickers for driving engagement are the emoji slider, the poll and the question stickers. By using these stickers, you can empower yourself to control your growth, as creators who post one to two stories per day see fewer unfollows than creators who don’t, leading to more substantial growth over time.

In light of Instagram’s 2025 focus, I’ve created a list of seven ways to optimize your content for maximum reach and platform growth:

  1. Create trend-focused content.
  2. Engage with your audience.
  3. Collaborate with other creators.
  4. Utilize AI to identify strong keywords, focusing on quality over quantity.
  5. Avoid using random hashtags; identify hyperrelevant hashtags for each post.
  6. Write strong captions that drive engagement (i.e., “tag a friend in the comments,” “share your thoughts,” or “double-tap if you agree”).
  7. Know your niche, create engaging content, and be consistent. The Instagram algorithm will do the rest.

Ready to take your Instagram game to the next level? As you think about your content strategy, what is one specific change you plan to implement this week to boost your engagement on Instagram?
