Welcome! I’m Tracie Miles, Director of COMPEL, and want to be the first to welcome you to the brand new COMPEL Training blog!

There is a lot of excitement around the COMPEL water cooler today as we celebrate the launch of the blog and our new and improved COMPEL Training website this week!

Below is a video our COMPEL Training leadership team recorded at the 2018 She Speaks Conference and we’d love for you to watch it and get introduced to our wonderful team. This video will help you get to know the women who make up the team at COMPEL, as well as learn about all the exciting features and learning opportunities available with our newly launched and upgraded website. In this video, our team answers common member questions about publishing, self-publishing, the writer’s life, how to have discipline and even how to write when life is busy.

Also, starting next week, we’re kicking off a brand new six-week COMPEL course called “Your Writing Life.”  We’re offering this course because we are well aware that the life of a writer is not always easy. From finding the motivation to start writing to learning the advanced aspects of being a writer, sometimes this calling to write can feel overwhelming. In this course, writers will be encouraged to have confidence to not only call themselves a “writer” but actually begin writing, as well as making sure spiritual growth, self-discipline and working spaces are in check. They’ll also learn how to get people talking about their work and how to keep pursuing their writing and publishing dreams when life is stressful or busy.

Whether you’re an aspiring writer or a published author, this course will provide the inspiration and motivation you need to live the best writing life possible. Each week we’ll offer a fresh, new teaching from one of the ladies on the COMPEL leadership team, all of whom are seasoned, professional writers living out the life of a writer each day and know how to speak encouragement and wisdom into the hearts of fellow writers.
