When you wonder if you should write your story…

When you wonder if you should write your story...

Many of us have stories to tell, experiences we’ve walked through and wisdom to share that might be helpful for others — yet we don’t always know what to do or which direction to go. Do we journal, start dreaming up a book project, write on a blog or keep it all to ourselves?

Maybe you’re a writer or storyteller like me, or maybe you’re grappling with this dilemma because:

  1. Other people have told you that you have a story to tell and you should write it down.

When you talk about what you’ve been through and what you’ve learned along the way, do others tell you that you should write a book or share your story in different ways? This is a sign that you have something valuable to say!

  1. You love to write and think your story or stories are interesting and could be fun to read or even be helpful to someone.

Have you been writing since you were young or even just recently realized you have a passion for the written word? Those who love to write, sometimes need a boost to help them see that their writing can help fulfill a beautiful purpose in the world. The thought that something so enjoyable like writing could be used to help someone as they walk through their own story might be the fuel you need to keep writing with a new focus!

  1. Lastly, maybe you have felt a nudge by God to move forward in obedience and start sharing your story.

Maybe God has been speaking to you about stepping out and sharing your story with a wider audience or in a different way than you have been. But you’re asking, “What now?”

If you fall into any of those categories, this is your day because I had the chance to sit down with Lysa TerKeurst and ask her the questions many of us are having when it comes to sharing our stories, and I think you’re going to love what Lysa teaches us. It might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for!

I hope you’ll join us TODAY, October 18th for “How To Take Your Story and Turn It Into a Message” with Lysa Terkeurst at 3 p.m. or 8 p.m. ET.
