We all have a story to tell, but as writers, our stories usually stem from experiences in our lifetime.
Experiences where we’ve endured pain and suffering, but also where we’ve enjoyed redemption and victory through faith. Having seen God do amazing things through our lives and in our circumstances, we begin to feel compelled to share our stories to help others who may be walking similar journeys or struggling with challenges we have overcome. We develop a passion to allow God to use our experiences to make a difference.
The call to turn our pain into a purpose for the glory of God is a high calling, which not only blesses others but blesses us and our lives as well.
But even if we want to tell our story, how do we do that and write in such a way where there is transferable wisdom shared to a reader, rather than just sounding like a memoir or tell-all book? If you’ve ever struggled with this question, we have an amazing free teaching for you with Lysa TerKeurst!
In a special Q&A Interview with Lysa TerKeurst and Amanda Bacon, Lysa will answer questions like:
- I’d like to write a book about my story, but where should I start?
- How do I know if I’m really called to share my story?
- How do I decide which type of book I’m supposed to write?
- How do I describe the hard things that have happened in my life without throwing the people involved under the bus? Do I need to ask permission from people who are involved in my story?
- What do I need to know if I’m just getting started writing
- And more!
If you’ve ever felt like you’d like to write about what you’ve personally walked through, but you don’t know where to start or what it could look like, this teaching with Lysa TerKeurst called How to Effectively Tell Your Story could be the next best step forward in your writing journey!
